Our specialised curriculums for babies, toddlers and preschoolers are purpose-written for each age group, and are based on educating the whole musician.

BOPPERBUGS

For  ages 1 – 2 years 10 months

This joyful class allows our youngest students to develop trust with teachers by involving their adults in the class.

 

    • Early musical experiences like fast and slow, soft and loud
    • Pre-literacy communication and listening
    • Gross and fine motor development
    • Rhythmic exploration and percussion playing
    • Exploring the voice, developing pitch and singing

Currently our Bopperbugs class is on:

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 9:30 am and Saturday at 8:30 am.

 

KINDER BEAT Percussion Play

For ages 2 years 10 months – 3 years 6 months

This progressive curriculum from the Encore Music Education system fosters effective learning through music play experiences. The building block approach ensures knowledge, skills and musical understanding are extended with each new song.

Our young musicians engage in:

    • Rhythm, beat, pulse and metre
    • Body percussion
    • Musical games and improvisation
    • Singing songs, rhymes and solfa/solfege
    • Movement, dance and gesture
    • Percussion playing – tuned and untuned
    • Listening, reflecting and responding
    • And much more…

Wednesday 10 am, Thursday 10 am and Saturday 10:45 am

 

KINDER BEAT Piano Play

For ages 3 years 6 months – 4 years 6 months

This progressive curriculum from the Encore Music Education uses contemporary songs and pieces that simplify the learning process.  Skills are built on with each new song while encouraging creativity, developing rhythmic awareness and reading, understanding and playing music.

 

    • Keyboard orientation, exploration and playing
    • Piano specific coordination activities
    • Strong rhythmic focus and foundation
    • Musicianship development through songs, rhymes and percussion playing
    • Reading of rhythm, pitch and graphic notation
    • Piano improvisation and ensemble playing
